Wonderful Whitby

I’m off to Whitby this weekend and I thought it would be a good time to tell you about wonderful Whitby Museum.

I’m biased as I used to work there, but it is a real gem and well worth a visit after you have had your fish and chips! Incredible plesiosaurs and ichthyosaurs are set into the wall and they have recently acquired some spectacular dinosaur footprints. Most of the fossils are local to Whitby and there are some great stories about the Victorian collectors.

If you are up there this summer book on to a guided fossil walks with the Dinosaur Coast. These events are really great fun and combine museums, the beautiful coast and a great day out.
