The invertebrate Palaeontoogy store

The Manchester Museum holds about 100,000 fossils, from trilobites to mammoths.

We only have room to display a tiny fraction of the collection at any one time, so most of it is kept in the museum’s stores. Find out more about our collection here.

The stored collection is used for a wide variety of things such as displays, public events, education sessions, research, university teaching and loaning objects to other museums.

If you would like to look at anything in the stored collection, please leave a comment in the box below and I will be happy to help.
